Powerful Super Fruits and Berry Examples

Let’s take a look at some of the key ingredients you should be looking for on your search for your super creation, and why.

Acerola fruit- Also known as a Barbados cherry, these fruits are high in Vitamin C, which is a water-soluble vitamin. Since vitamin C is not stored in the fatty tissues like many other vitamins are you must get this vitamin from food on a daily basis. You need vitamin C for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. Sometimes used as a skin cream, acerola also contains mineral salts, that help restore minerals to the skin. It also contains concentrated sources of vitamin A, thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin. This is why acerola is associated in many cultures with youth and beauty, and used in preventing the onset of many age-related diseases.

Apple fiber-Dietary fiber is extremely important and is usually only found in fruits, vegetables, and certain whole grains and legumes. Best known for its ability to prevent or relieve constipation, dietary fiber is also associated with enhanced nutrient absorption and waste elimination. When this system is more efficient, your body is left more energized, and with a more powerful immune, which aids in overall increased health and healing.  Apple fiber contains an unusually high concentration of a special type of fiber known as pectin.  Pectin is what is known as a soluble fiber. This is fiber that disperses easily in water, which is important for the water based digestive system. Concentrated soluble fiber acts as a wonderful detoxifying agent which helps in those battling  obesity and abnormal glucose levels. It is a natural cholesterol-lowering agent, that can be even more effective than oat bran and psyllium. Research has suggested that apple fiber may battle or guard against colon tumors by accelerating the elimination of toxins.

Citris bioflavanoids complex– Floating around your bloodstream, unbeknownst to you, are tiny, microscopic bombs, just waiting to be set off. These are what are known as free radicals. Chemically charged, the key to defusing these bombs are a wide range of molecules known as antioxidants. Many of the health benefits of citrus bioflavonoids relate to their antioxidant activity. Bioflavonoids are derived from fruits high in vitamin C, and they appear to act synergistically with the vitamin to neutralize free radicals.

Raspberry– Raspberries are the main berry source of ellagitannins, which is a type of antioxidant that may have anti-cancer properties. They are also a good source of vitamin K, which helps to increase bone-mineral density. They contain 8 grams of regular dietary fiber, which aids in the 25-32 grams that women and men need, respectively, to protect their bodies against colon cancer, digestive issues, and heart disease.

Bilberry– A relative of blueberry, cranberry, and huckleberry, bilberry looks like the American blueberry. Bilberry fruit contains chemicals known as anthocyanosides, which have excellent antioxidant properties. They hunt for damaging free radicals and then aide in preventing  or reversing damage to cells. Bilberry also contains vitamin C.

Some other ingredients that you can look for that make up a great super food and berry blend can include Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly Concentrate, Enzymes , probiotics like Bacillus Coagulans Lactospores as well as other types of herbs.

Any good recipes?

It may be easier for some of us to get in our daily dose of super fruits, rather than super greens, because of their variety of sweet, tangy, flavors. Because all of these fruits and berries taste great, they can easily be consumed in their raw form, but here’s a tip. It’s what is known as the power of synergism. Some of the potential of these nutrients are most fully realized when combined with what are popularly known as super greens, such as spirulina, alfalfa leaf, barley leaf, or wheatgrass. So don’t just take a shot of wheatgrass, add it to your berry shake, toss in a few super foods and powders, and you are on your way to a tasty and fantastic meal! I wouldn’t be surprised if you were to live forever, and were never ensnared in The Great Nothingness of Death. Make sure to buy these fruits organic whenever possible to reduce taking in pesticides. Incorporating super berries and super foods in your daily diet will help to aid in a healthy and energetic life. It’s hard to believe foods that taste this good are so good for us!
